This is the third screen of references, persons who have purchased =========== Hello Steve...Thanks very much for your recent mail...Your comments in that one message taught me more about the Minox operation than I had gotten during months of going nowhere with Elmont, and still going nowhere. =========== Thanks for the Info Steve. I shot two rolls of film with my new III today. It is ugly but I like it. It seems to be perfect mechanically, it shoots very smooth. Thanks again for keeping me busy with toys. The leather case was a great gift. =========== I'm a little uneasy about poking a tiger when he's angry, but have you considered that you may be paying more in time and money than the camera is worth? For $250 US, I got a near mint B from Steve Uhrig at SWS. Just a thought. ~ =========== The II came today. That was a very fast shipment time. It is really cool. I am about to load it with some color film and hit the road. =========== Thank you for the link Steve. My coworkers and I have been on your website for about the last hour looking at your minox items. I might be interested in one of the viewfinders that allow you to take a photo without looking in that direction. I forgot what they are called. I look forward to getting the camera I ordered today. Everyday is like xmas when you deal with swssec. =========== Steve, the Minox B that you sent me was incredible. Thank you so much for parting with an excellent mint camera. I read the instructions you sent me and hit the pavement with my new camera in hand. I am so glad that I found you on the internet. ============ Hi. Steve-- Received Minox IIIs and meter today----What a beautiful set! Thanks for finding it for me. ============ Hi Steve, The Minox just arrived, and it is superb for the display!! Thanks very much. In addition, thanks for the additional article from the Washington Times. I hope to purchase more from you in the near future. You and your company are outstanding to deal with!! ============ I have purchased from Steve Uhrig many times, and have ALWAYS been a big fan and supporter of his. In fact, I have a "B" on order from him as we speak. He always has the best quality merchandise, and I never have a doubt about his ethics or professionalism. They are rare qualities and we should be thankful we have him selling Minox equipment. ============= Hi Steve, I received the camera in the mail today, and as always, it's just as you described. You gave me a great deal...as usual. ============= ur looking at $125- up to service the camera plus parts cost, and that's assuming parts are available. Viewfinders are available at DAG, i dunno the cost, but meters are a different matter. If he has a junker with a working meter, ur in luck, if not then you have a dead meter unless he can cut and replace the silenium cell, which I have heard he can do, but have also heard mixed results on the results of. OR you can go to Steve Uhrig's site, swssec.com, and buy one that's already been serviced and doesn't have those problems, expecting to spend about $250 or so. Yeah yeah, they're cheaper on ebay, but steve's work now. By the time you get yours serviced, spend the bucks for parts and shipping, his may be cheaper, and almost certainly less hassle. ============ I am amazed that I am able to take almost perfect shots without a light meter. I am so glad I purchased the IIIs and then the III from you because they are a blast to use. Everyday I run out of the house with my III in my pocket looking for new things to photograph. Thanks again for providing me with a great new hobby. =========== Steve, thanks for the Ec that you sent me! The condition of the camera is great and I look forward to one day getting my film developed and returned to me. Now that I have bought three minox's from you it is difficult to decide which camera I am going to take with me when I leave the house! =========== H. called me and told me that the IIIs he bought from you isincredible. I am going over to check it out tomorrow Steve, I love the camera! I took it to my friend's house and he showed me how to load it with film and use it. He told me that he bought a IIIs from you as well. I have been showing it to my friends and they think it is great. =========== Thank you again for a prompt and practical response on the Minox issues. Will send a check as soon as I get the invoice. =========== Steve, the Minox arrived today - by Priority Mail no less! I felt bad handling the camera - it doesn't look like it's ever been touched, and that's sure to change with this klutz! <g> It's tremendously generous of you and I thank you. ============ Thanks for the Info Steve. Regards, Jim ============ Hey Steve, I got the Minox, it is beautiful and so smooth thanks so much and thanks for the gifts and the old film (that’s going in my Minox collection). Steve: Thank you for the prompt delivery of the Minox cartridges.. My buddy and I are going to start using our new cameras... I don't know if it was a mistake on your part , or you were nice to a Canuck? But I received 18 cassettes and the order placed was 12 ? Thanks again: I also wanted to say thanks a lot for all the help answering questions, giving advice, having patience reading my letters even though they are long sometimes and taking your precious time to writeme no matter how long or short the letter. I have not met anybody as honest and nice as you, you're on my favorite person list, you gained a new friend, thanks so much Steve... Steve, I've received the camera in good condition, better than described. Thanks for your help! Hey Steve: Steve: Just a note to thank you for the tripod. You are right about the "neat" factor. Even my beautiful wife, whose first reaction to my discussion of the tripod was a list of the tripods currently in residence at our house, was fascinated. Showing it off feels a bit like being an amateur magician--now watch my hand closely ... no cable release up my sleeve ... I am already beginning to recover the just plain fun of working with the camera, and the different way it lets me think about subjects and composition. Thanks again for the reintroduction into a wonderful branch of the sport. ========= Minox Fans: I got a nifty package in the mail today, from our own Steve Uhrig. Copies of the 1939 Minox patents. There are 3 sets, one for lens mechanism, one for film transport and one for the actual camera. Each contains text descriptions, as well as the original hand drawings. Neat stuff. It may be around, but I myself have never seen it. P.S. AND... as an added bonus, an article from Wilson's Photographic Magazine from 1902, "A Simple Means of Producing Micro-Photographs with an Ordinary Camera". ========== Well I got my new MHS EC from Steve this week....great service and many thanks Steve ... The Minox III got here and it's a great little camera. Already shooting with it. Thanks for getting it off to me so promptly when you had a lot of more important stuff on your mind, and I appreciate the screwdrivers, which I will guard with my life because they are forged steel instead of the typical pot-metal jobs I see. Hi Steve. I got the cable release yesterday. It is perfect. Thank you very much. You can add my name to those who have complimented you on your honesty and service. When I need more Minox equipment, I'm coming to you. Thanks for the Minox B. It arrived in plenty of time for the holiday and my son was thrilled. He works for NPR and the camera will help him in his work. Some of his pictures are on the WHYY Philadelphia. Just got the first roll processed by MPL. Beautiful photos. I really love the camera. Thanks a lot. Thank you!! The new camera arrived this afternoon and works fine. I am putting the other one in the mail and it will go out tomorrow. Thank you, also, for the film. You certainly didn't have to do that and please do not think about the cost of the return mail - you have done more than enough. Thank you again. Steve, I must have done something right during my life to run into a man with a heart as big as yours. Riga Minox ... Yeah, Riga Minox! Steve Uhrig has been kind enough to send me a beautiful, newly refurbished Riga to shoot a couple of rolls of film with. Woo hoo! The camera is lovely ... feels like a IIIS that weighs three times as much in my hand, very solid. As usual all in excellent condition and thank you again for the free gifts. You are one in a million. I received my Minox IIIs yesterday. You stated that it was almost mint. I would say that it is BEAUTIFUL. I'm almost 50 now, and I have dreamed about owning a Minox since I was 17 years old. As a person who has been involved in surveillance for over 20 years I feel I can speak authoritatively on the subject. My training within the Police Force included conventional and rural surveillance. This provided the appropriate tools for work latterly as a Security Consultant in the private sector. Unfortunately when my authorities offered the opportunity of training in technical surveillance I foolishly passed up the opportunity. As a young operator I saw the technical unit staffed by 'boffins' and 'squares' whereas I preferred the 'cut and thrust' of the surveillance teams. If only I knew then what I know now. The reality is that conventional surveillance relys strongly on technical assistance. This is also applicable in the private sector were we need to utilise whatever help that can be gained. Over the years I have discovered a myriad of shops and suppliers promising amazing and unbelievable equipment. In the early days I may have been taken in by these fantastic claims. It is refreshing to find a source which is totally professional and a pleasure to do business with. Steve Uhrig of SWS Security is none of the former and all of the latter. After discovering him through the web I have purchased a number of items from his used equipment and Minox lists. They arrived in the condition they were described on his site and within 4 days, all the way from the USA to Ireland! Kit I have ordered from England has sometimes taken much longer to cross the Irish Sea. But over and above his excellent range at reasonable prices is the invaluable advice which Steve freely gives, guiding a potential buyer away from purchasing an inappropriate item to obtaining the right one for the task. I for one will be revisiting him again and again. hi steve, i just got the manual. the email was perfect. thank you very much I received the Minox C last week. I was so busy playing with it that I totally forgot to thank you for the quick delivery. It looks like it's never been used. Also it's nice to have a model that you can cock the shutter and not lose a picture if you decide not to take it at the moment. Steve, MUCH more than I bargained for. Glowing letters, no hyperbole! Regret now the nitpicking...hope I did not offend...pleading ignorance. Have been taking pictures today, great fun! Half of them with my finger over the lens probably. You did not mention the fact that this was a Wetzler model and I just noticed. Forgive any offense and now I will just say thanks again and leave with my tail between my legs! Thanks for the quick delivery Steve! Great little camera, completely as described. Happy to have spent the money buying from you and would do so again in a minute. What can I say, but thank you. The mailman actually just came back and stated he forgot to deliver this and was very apologetic. Anyway, what can I say. The tripod is awesome! I am hooked. I just read the manual twice and have been playing and learning the camera. I just wanted to tell you that it was a pleasure speaking with you. I really am glad to know that there are kind and generous people left to deal with. I knew that after speaking with you the first time that I would enjoy the minox and was wondering why I just didn't get the LX and then you called back and I was extremely pleased with getting the LX instead of the C. I again want to thank you and I look forward to speaking with you again. When the pictures come back I will forward some of my shots to you by email. thanks a million Steve and I can't wait to get the minox LX. I hope you as happy with the flash unit as I am with what you sent me!! Thank you very much. You are a mensch! (Note -- a definition from a friend: A mensch is about as nice a compliment as you can pay somebody. It says that they are human, a gentleman (or lady), caring & giving, strictly honest, faithful friend, etc. but you get the idea.) greetings from florida. i hope everything is ok with you. my silver lx continues to work perfectly. i think your commentary about buying from you v. ebay is right on the money. most people are not as honest as us. Steve, I got the stuff yesterday morning at the same time the film arrived from Minox. Thank you very much! The first thing I did was go through the instructions which were very clear to me because of the briefing you gave me by phone. Then I loaded up the battery and watched the red LED turn off as I began to close the camera. the camera arrived today, and a big thanks for the case it is superb, and a very nice surprise, thank you very much.. The LX is definitely way above my friend's EC. thanks for your advice, I'll expect I will be in touch to tell you how I'm getting on with the LX, as well as to expand on the equipment I may need. Thanks again for the quick delivery. Thanks for the III's! I just got it and I'm excited about it. The camera is perfect and I can't wait to use it. Thanks for putting the film and mailer in the order! Also say thank you to your lovely wife for getting it out Fedex to me so quickly. I bet once I show my wife she'll want one of her own. Now I know that you as good as people say you are. You must really care - and that is rare in the world we live in now. Honesty must still be a good policy. By the way - I am a retired CW3 working against the Walker Family and the Ames' - first name Aldrich. So, in a small way - we are (and were) in the same business. Thank you so much for this incredible response. I will read it over again, and again. It is so full of information. You are obviously a wellspring of knowledge about these cameras and accessories. I am fortunate to have run into you.. Thanks again, and we will be communicating! I received the flash cubes yesterday, and I'm very impressed, that they arrived so quickly. I didn't have time to write yesterday. We went to a zoo with some friends and visited them afterwards, so we got home quite late. I didn't have to pay any taxes at all, so no problem there. The flash cubes look fine, and it's funny to see such an old package unopened like brand new. It's just like being taken 25 years back in time. I don't remember having seen Westinghouse flash cubes here in Denmark. We had Sylvana and Philips if I remember correctly, and the ones I just used up were Osram. There were probably other brands, that I don't remember anymore. Proud owner of a Minox IIIs purchased from SWS Hi Steve, hope all is well. Check is in the mail for the daylight tank for the total. thanks again for your prompt professional service. Thanks Steve.....you certainly have a loyal customer here. steve: many thanks for the trouble you have taken to be sure all is righ with my purchase. i am new to this particular field, and, yes, may call on you. the tip about film is appreciated as are the two batteries, case etc. Steve -- thanks you are the expert. one battery will be fine. and an honest man nice confirms my conviction the world is doing well. The camera arrived safely. Thanks for the extra effort in getting it out to me quickly. I received some film and have been using the camera on my travels. It is exactly what I was looking for. I will let you know how the pictures turn out when I get them back. Thank you so much for your help and your constant help to Minox lovers. Steve, Mike here. Received LX today fantastic already shot a couple pics of my daughter (have to explain to my wife yet why I spent $600 on a camera ) well its cheaper than my watch collection. I just recieved the Minox tripod yesterday! It is in perfect condition. It is a bit bigger than I pictured it, but all my friends are envious of my new "cool" tripod. I appreciate your help in the matter. I received your shipment wednesday and I thank you for all the extras, particularly the tripod adapter, which of course represents serious extra value. I have never seen one before, but it has already proved to be very useful. The camera is in great condition, and I enjoy using it. I am glad I ordered the tripod, it is a great concept. Steve, The Minox B arrived safely this Monday. Thank you very much. It is in good shape, appears to operate well - though I am a novice - and looks fine, not too "worn"...a nice starter camera. And thanks for the tip on loading - I see what you mean about pushing it partway closed to open the filmgate. I'm ready to go. People who know me know my word is my life. People who are my friends feel the same way. When I buy something I know nothing about, I only trust the trustworthy. You, my friend fit into that category. Your reputation is great and your straightforwardness is legendary. We have that same characteristic. The uninformed call it blunt. Many thanks for the speedy delivery. Like the books especially the Minox pocket companion. Tripod is an amazing design! Camera looks and sounds (no film yet!) magnificent. A question about the III. The camera appears quite new. Is this just that it is in such good shape or, you mentioned it was overhauled? Hi Steve, I received the 111s on Monday and I have to tell you the camera is flawless as advertised. I feel like I should wear gloves when I'm handling it. Thank you for reserving it for me and your honesty. I'm sure there will be future transaction in collecting and using these wonderful minis. Steve - - Thank you for the prompt shipment. The order I placed with you on Friday arrived on Monday. I got everything put together and loaded a cassette of B&W ISO 100 in it. The camera is in wonderful shape, light and responsive. I have found that the nylon belt pouch for a Leatherman tool fits well, and provides some protection. Steve - the attachment device arrived a few days ago, and I can now use my Minox C case with confidence. Thanks again for your kind help and charity. You made my new year. I hope yours is even better. I received my BL & stuff (& extra stuff) this morning. It looks great. C. As ever, it's great to do business with you. I'd like to tell you again how happy John & I both are with the LXs, we're having great fun with them and they've spawned all kinds of plans for future adventure. It's been especially nice to feel confident with the purchase, having made it from someone so helpful and knowledgable. (You can put that in your recommendations list if you'd like, and I've been telling all my photo friends about you!) Thanks, and I appreciate all the great Minox information on your page! You do Minox a great service! Fabulous! More relatives! Hey, I certainly will tell my friends. This thing gets more attention when I pull it out than -- a new baby. Everyone wants to know where I got it, and are astounded that it's almost thirty years old. Sarah loves her birthday present. Thanks for the card and the flashlight; that was a nice extra touch. She said also that you had helped her out with the mystery of how to get the camera out of its case. Many thanks. Steve, Thanks for sending my Minox C, which arrived today. It appears to be in even better condition than you had described. I trust it will work as good as it looks. Thanks to Steve I stand corrected -- you probably won't get IR gels from the theatre folks, and you don't need to -- Steve's information on homebrew IR is wonderful! Thank you, Steve. This summer I bought my first Minox, a IIIs, from Steve Uhrig. (Thanks, Steve, it was a pleasure doing business with you!) I got the chain today--it's perfect. Just to let you know that the Minox was the BEST Christmas present! My friend, Paul, is still learning how to use it well. It is great fun and I appreciate so much the manual that you sent. I cannot imagine being able to figure anything out without a manual. Thank you for your exceptional service. Steve, I would once again like to thank you for the Minox cassettes you sent me free of charge. The seven cassettes will get me well on my way of loading and developing my own black and white film. Thank you, once again, for going above and beyond excellent customer service ... Steve, just a short note to say I am Soooooo... happy with my Minox C. Again, much thanks to you for everything . Elisabeth (new Minoxer) I still am playing with my minox....can't take that adorable toy from me...... Hello Steve, Hi Steve, Just received it Saturday. Thanks for the film and mailers also. Everything looks good. Damn if I can tell the difference between the 2 stands. I'll be sending the other one back first thing tomorrow, and thanks for the postage. Steve: Just a note to say that the III and the tank arrived safely. Also the driver set--thanks! I'm currently running some film through the camera, and I'll drop you a note when I have some results. But so far, it appears to be mechanically as you said, flawless. I was expecting the finish to be a lot rougher than it is--it's wearing its age a lot more gracefully than I am. Thanks again. It's a pleasure talking with you, and a pleasure using the camera. Steve, Your Minox web site is marvelous. Sorry to hear Minox fled the field. Hello Steve, I have received your EC leather case. Exactly what I wanted and needed. Thank you very much, Best regards .. thanks for everything, Steve. You get my business everytime! Well, I learn something new everyday (thanks, Gerald). Apparently, I have a copy stand that has metric measurements, which would explain many of the out-of-focus photos taken with my imperial model B. Luckily, the reputable dealer will exchange my stand for me (thanks, Steve). Hey Steve, Steve, I appreciate your expedited response and, more importantly, I appreciate your honesty and good advice. Steve, I sincerely say thank you for your honesty and integrity. Steve, again, thank you, the black minox c is adorable and I am happy...thanks for the gift too... :-) Hi Steve: Really enjoying the BL and EC recently got from you, but just wondering, the Riga Minox, is that more for collectors or picture takers (like me)? Just considering yet another Minox from you. Steve: The EC I got from you is working fine. Steve, just a short note to say thank you on short notice for your patience and help. The battery for the black LX has just arrived in New Zealand. Many thanks Steve and I appreciate your service. Steve, The camera arrived in good shape today and it looks wonderful. I am looking forward to getting some film into it. Thanks a lot for your patience the other day on the phone - I realise I took up 40 minutes but the discussion from my perspective was well worth it. Anyway, thanks again and I will get back to you in due course regarding developing tanks etc. Thanks also for the extra gifts. As you know a ham can never have too much test equipment! Steve... Steve, Thanks for the reply. You really know your stuff! Thank you for all the information that you sent. Your Minox site really helped me a lot when it came to general info on the camera. Hope you have a great day. Hello Steve, I just wanted to thank you for sending my Minox BL to Marty. He has made my metric BL into a footage scale and cleaned and lubed the camera so I'm going to use it when I get it back. I also want to thank you for putting me in touch with Marty. He is very pleasant and helpful. Hoping I can of help to you sometime, please call on me. Sincerely Mel W. Steve, you're the easiest person to work with I have ever encountered... Dear Steve, Hi Steve. I just wanted to let you know that your check arrived yesterday. Thanks for your rapid response and the extra $. I hope the camera does well by you. I enjoyed your web site very much and it has been a pleasure dealing with you. Thanks again, Jeff Steve, Just got my Minox and it's a thing of beauty. Naturally, now I desire some of the great extras I've seen on your site. Thanks again for being such an honest and helpful guy. - Hi Steve, Steve Steve, Good Afternoon Steve! Steve: Just signed for Minox IIIs, very pleased. It is just like my grandfather's B. The IIIs's viewfinder brighter than my grandfather's, possibly a new one was put in? i got the developing tank last thursday in good condition. there was a little delay because of the customs. its been nice doing business with you, and if ever need anything for my minox i know who to turn :) Hi Steve, Hello Steve, Thanks for all the good advices about how to take care of my Minox. Very valuable tips. I surely will have reason to get back to you again in the future. Thanks for a pleasant business and for gettting to know you. Mr. Uhrig: I spoke with you last June, was undecided about purchasing a newer Minox rather than using my grandfather's Minox B, and possibly having something happen to it. Still remember your advice, insight---thanks again. Mike Hi Steve, Got my Minox C today and it looks great. Excellent condition and just waaaay cool. And thanks for the bonus screwdriver set too. I don't expect to be opening her up anytime soon, but at least now I can if I have to. After I run some film through her, I'll let you know how it goes. Look forward to hearing from you and thanks again for the great camera. Hi Steve, Just want to inform you the Minox has arrrived. Very fine. It had just a few scratches from normal use, nothing serious, and was nor expected to be mint. I very much appreciate the fine original boxes. Dear Steve, Thank you for your atention. It's easy to know why you have so good reputation all over the "minox world". Congratulations for your work. Steve, I just received your message & it was great. I think it took a lot of guts to send this message. I think you will be truly rewarded for sending this message. Thanks for sharing it with me, Steve: I have my first pictures taked with the Minox B. Thanks for your advice in order to keep it and don't sell it. If you have time, you can see the pictures at http://www.chile.cc/fotos/index.html. I'm wonder about this amazing little machine. I'm so happy with the results so I decide to open a website about: http://www.chile.cc/minox, where I put a link to your site also. Thanks again and I hope to do business with you soon. Mario Saquel All is well now. I appreciate the helpful pointers, I'm new to the Minox line so I'm still discovering the subtleties and elegance of its engineering. I received the Minox C today. Thanks, Steve! It is a beauty. I received film to, so I will use it this weekend. It is a beautiful piece of engineering. I am a filmmaker, and have a movie camera from the same period -- an Eclair NPR. The Minox reminds me of my Eclair in its precise feel and workmanship. To: Steve |
